Katherine Elizabeth Looby Taylor, born February 14, 1927, died peacefully on November 6, 2012. Kathy grew up on the family farm and spent her childhood roaming the woods on horseback in Churubusco, New York. She lived with her parents Thomas F. and Anna (nee Navin) Looby and her brother Thomas. She graduated from Chateaugay High School and Plattsburgh State College. Upon graduation she moved to Long Island where she taught elementary school for several years and made many lifelong friends.

In 1965 Kathy and Bill moved with their children to Homestead Village in Bel Air where she lived until her move to Brightview two years ago. She wrote an Antiques column for the Aegis for many years and was a well known Antique shop owner in Bel Air. Her many interests included literature, writing, antiques, gardening and politics. A highlight of her life was a trip to Ireland with daughter Kathleen. This journey she planned for many years and talked about with great enjoyment until the day she died. She was resolute in her belief that Ireland was the greatest country in the world.

Katherine was predeceased by her husband William James Taylor, Jr., and her brother, Dr. Thomas F. Looby and his wife, Dorothy.

She is survived by her children Janet (husband Don Reilly) of Monterey, CA, Karen (husband Bill Tiefenwerth) of Baltimore, Bill (wife Jo nee Tuchton) Taylor of Cockeysville and Kathleen (husband John Zungailia) of Timonium. She is survived by 11 grandchildren: Frank Gallagher (wife Nyla), Tara (husband John Couch), Siobhan Gallagher, Casey Tiefenwerth, Shannon, Bill, Danny and Marikate Taylor, and Karly, Garrett and Lacey Zungailia.
She is also survived by her 3 great grandchildren, Madeline, Ella and Julia Gallagher and her four nephews, Daniel, Christopher, Thomas and John Looby.

Kathy was laid to rest in the family plot on November 9 following a Mass of Christian Burial at her childhood church, Immaculate Heart of Mary in Churubusco, NY.
