Katherine E. ''De De'' Anderson

Katherine E. "De De" Anderson, age 93, of Bel Air, MD passed away on July 23, 2017 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Bel Air, she was the daughter of John William and Mary Elizabeth (Bruns) Anderson. She had worked for Harford County her entire life, lastly serving as County Treasurer as an elected official. She had served as a board member of the Harford County Board of Elections from 1984-2007. She was an active member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where she served in many capacities during her membership. She was the oldest member of Bel Air Post 39 American Legion Auxiliary and was a founding member of the Bel Air Soroptimist Club and had served on the Democratic Club of Bel Air committee. She was also involved in St. Margaret's and St. Ignatius' Sodality, the Harford County Tuberculosis and Health Association, Catholic Daughters of America, Maryland Public Finance Officers Association and the National Association of County Treasurers. She truly loved Harford County and politics!! She loved to play cards, going to the horse races, travel by land and sea, and spending time with her family!! She was named a Harford County Living Treasure.

Ms. Anderson is survived by 21 beloved nieces, nephews, spouses and their families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas E. Anderson, William H. Anderson, John B. Anderson and Mary L. Boniface.
