Karen Lee Brown, age 77, of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away on December 18, 2024. Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Florence (Mahan) Brown.
Karen was a long-time member of Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church, where she shared her faith and fellowship with the congregation. Known affectionately as the "Cat Lady," Karen had a deep love for animals and dedicated herself to caring for 20 cats over the years. Her compassion for animals and her community will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her love for animals, Karen enjoyed knitting scarves and other items with her sister Patricia. Together, they created thoughtful gifts for friends and family, spreading warmth and kindness with their craft.
Karen is survived by her sister, Patricia Florence Brown, and her cousins, Stephen D. Scarborough, Tina Anthony, and Denise (David) Kruczynski. She was preceded in death by her beloved aunt and uncle, Imogene and Stanley Mahan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Karen's memory to Smith's Chapel United Methodist Church, 3111 Churchville Road, Churchville, MD 21028.
