In 2008, Kara graduated from Joppatowne High School and then proceeded into a self-advocacy program called Future Links. Kara enjoyed life to the fullest and her family meant everything to her. Some of her favorite things to do were collecting jewelry, putting together photo albums, listening to music (specifically Kendall Schmidt from Heffron Drive), but most of all, being an aunt and being surrounded by her family and friends who loved her dearly. While being treated for leukemia at UMMC in Baltimore, she met many doctors and nurses who quickly became part of the family. She knew just how to brighten anyone's day and will be missed by many.
