Julia Ann Persky

Julia Ann Persky, age 90, of Bel Air, passed away peacefully in the home that she loved for over fifty years on March 22, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George Pohlman, Sr., and Julia Eierman.

Julia grew up in Baltimore, and was a champion tennis player, often taking the bus both ways to play at Clifton Park. She was an English teacher for over forty years, sharing her love of literature and language with students from Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Harford County, finally retiring from Magnolia Middle School in 1999. Julia was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church and, in more recent years, joined the family of Christ Our King.

Julia is survived by her daughter, Anne Persky; son, George (Jennifer) Persky; grandchildren, Evan, Norah, and Caroline Persky of California; nieces, Leslie, Julie, MaryBeth.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Pohlman, Jr., husband Howard Persky, and beloved companion Vincent Salkowski.
