Juanita O. Magness

Juanita O. Magness, age 85, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on June 13, 2012 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. She was 85 years old. Juanita was born in Sparta, NC, to Elder and Mrs. Gordon C. Hendrix. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Truly L., Clive, and C.J. Hendrix and sisters, Maxine H. Badger, Nina S. Pruitt and Eva W. Edwards.

She worked at the Glen Eagle Sewing Factory in Bel Air for over 15 years and waitressed at both Red Fox and Blue Bell Restaurants for many years. She had also worked at Woolworths. She attended church faithfully at Baptist View Church in Forest Hill where she was a member. She loved spending time with her family and cooking her favorite Southern foods for others. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Ms. Magness is survived by her son, Michael Leonard Magness of Bel Air, MD; daughters, Nancy Lee Martin and husband, Thomas, of Pylesville, MD and Robin Magness Epstein and husband, Neil, of Forest Hill, MD; brothers, Ralph L. Hendrix of Darlington, MD and Gordon C. Hendrix Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Ruby Adams and Ruth Hendrix, both of Winston-Salem, NC and Virginia Whetzler of Laurel, DE; grandchildren, Stacey Tetteris, Heather Martin, Christy VanNess, Josh Magness, Charlie Martin, Abigail, Alayna and Cortney Epstein; and great-grandchildren, Logan Shuttleworth and Anna and Lilly VanNess. She is also survived by Leonard W. Magness, Josh and Stevie Tetteris, and David and Gloria Edwards.

Pallbearers were Charles T. Martin, Josh Magness, Thomas Martin, Neil Epstein, David V. Edwards and Michael Magness.
