Joyce Gladys Davis

Joyce Gladys Davis, age 81, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away comfortably on August 29, 2022 in Bel Air, Maryland.

Born in Plattsmouth, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Gladys (Avery) Rozell.

She married Herbert Davis, Sr. in 1958 in Plattsmouth, NE.

Joyce graduated high school in Plattsmouth, NE in 1959, she then graduated from cosmetology school in Omaha, NE in 1960. She was a cosmetology teacher at Ruth’s Beauty School in Bel Air, MD from 1976 to 1980. She owned and operated her own hair salon from 1980 to 2000, then she retired. Joyce loved being a hairdresser, gardening, cooking, playing shuffleboard, line dancing, clogging, and especially spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Herbert Davis, Sr.; her son, Herbert Davis, Jr.; her daughter, Donna (Davis) Pumphrey; and her grandchildren, Garrett Davis, Kaylee Davis, and Ryan Pumphrey.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Rozell, Richard Rozell, Lovey Rozell, Stanley Rozell, Gene Rozell, Everett Rozell, and her sisters, Eleanor (Rozell) Coolman and Doloris (Rozell) Schroeder.
