Joyce A. Edwards

Joyce A. Edwards, age 79, of Street, MD, passed away on January 20, 2013 at her daughter's home. Born in Bluff City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Munroe Marion and Helen Tressie Caudill Lyon and wife of the late Robert "Bobby" Van Edwards. She had worked for the Board of Education for 15 years and as a correctional officer with Harford County for 30 years. A serious baker, she started her career with a spatula and ended it with a gun. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Edwards is survived by her son, Dennis Michael Edwards and wife, Linda, of Joppa; daughter, Cheryl Dawn Matlick and husband, Bob, of Perry Hall; sister-in-law, Catherine Marion of Bluff City, TN; eight grandchildren, Tracy Edwards, Alecia Ghouralal, Michelle R. Thomas, Lisa N. Thomas, David A. Hooker, Jessica Marie Hooker, Robert C. Matlick and Jason B. Matlick; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Anne Hooker; her son Charles Edwards who died at birth; and her brother, Robert Marion.
