Josephine Katherine Ali

Josephine "Jo" Katherine Ali, 82, of Belcamp, MD, passed away at her home on February 4, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late A. Robert and Josephine Ryan Widenman. She was a resident of Harford County for nearly 50 years. She graduated from Hunter College of New York and received her Master's equivalency from Towson State College. She taught elementary school in New York City, Nottingham, England and here in Harford County at Edgewood and Wakefield Elementary Schools. She was an active member of several catholic parishes in Harford County, including St. Margaret and St. Ignatius, and most enduringly St. Francis de Sales in Abingdon. She was perennial volunteer, working with Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India, as well as with Catholic churches here in Harford County. Additionally, she volunteered her time for FISH.

Mrs. Ali is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, S. Altaf Ali; devoted son, Daud Ali of Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Maryam Ali McShea of Leesburg, VA; and grandchildren, Andrew Joseph McShea and Hannah Katherine Ali McShea of Leesburg, VA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Widenman.
