Joseph Ronald ''Ronnie'' Atkinson Sr.

Joseph Ronald "Ronnie" Atkinson Sr., age 71, died on April 29, 2009 at Bel Air Health and Rehabilitation in Bel Air, MD after a long illness. Born in Baltimore, MD on December 13, 1937 he was the son of the late James W. and Helen Atkinson and husband of the late Nancy Atkinson. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he married Nancy L. Wilhelm in 1964 with whom he enjoyed two sons, Joseph and Jeffrey. Mr. Atkinson worked for Western Electric until his retirement. He is remembered for his witty sense of humor, fondness for trips to his vacation home in Ocean City and his love for boating.

Mr. Atkinson is survived by son, Joseph of Bel Air, MD, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Stephanie of Bel Air, MD; and grandsons, Nickolas and Gavin. Also survived by four siblings, Doris Lombardi, Joan Miele, James Atkinson, and Pat Carlyle.
