JOSEPH LEO RINK, age 77, of Bel Air, MD died at his home on May 28, 2008 surrounded by his family. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Leo Rink and the late Juliana Jasasciute Wangus. Raised at the St. Vincent Orphanage for Boys by the Sisters of Mercy, Mr. Rink attended Calvert Hall College High School and Loyola College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 – 1953. He worked in the Accounting Department at Bethlehem Steel for 38 years. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Bel Air Council and St. Margaret Catholic Church. Joe often volunteered at the Perry Point Veterans Hospital where he enjoyed spending time with the sick and injured patients. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his wife of 48 years. He particularly took pleasure in attending his grandchildren's extracurricular activities like sports and dance recitals.
Mr. Rink was the beloved husband of 48 years of Patricia E. McMaines Rink of Bel Air, MD; devoted father of Kathleen M. Ebner and her husband, Charles, of Forest Hill, MD, Kelly P. Huber, and her husband, Steven, of Bel Air, MD, and Jeffrey S. Rink, and his wife, Kathy, of Fallston, MD; loving grandfather of Ryan, Matthew, and Jillian Ebner of Forest Hill, MD, Sean, Stephanie, and Kyle Huber of Bel Air, MD and Megan Rink of Fallston, MD; dear brother of Rita Lupien of Danielson, CT; devoted son-in-law of Elsie D. McMaines of Bel Air, MD. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Rink was predeceased by a brother, Stanley J. Rink and a sister, Eva Hojnowski.
