Joseph Field

Joseph Field, age 77, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on October 16, 2012 at Loch Raven VA Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph Edward Field Sr. and Anna Josephine Gibbons Field. A veteran of the U.S. Army he worked 19 years for Henry B. Gilpin Company where he met his wife of 49 years, 20 years for Loewy/McKesson where he was a Warehouse Manager and Buyer, and before his retirement, he worked about 9 years as a Supervisor for USCO. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1999, he was honored for his dedication to the Food Closet that served hundreds of families every month. He and his wife were instrumental in organizing and elevating it to where it is today.

Mr. Field is survived by his wife, Joyce Newman Field of Abingdon, MD; son, Michael O. Field of Abingdon, MD; daughter, Jean M. Field of Abingdon, MD; sisters, Eleanor J. Miller of Miller, MD and Annette Olsen of Anne Arundel County, MD; and three grandchildren, Deanna, Stephanie and David Field. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Edward Joseph Field and sisters, Betty Bruce and Regina Reichart.
