Joseph A. Berry

Joseph A. Berry, age 78, of Bel Air, MD, died on April 1, 2009. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Anne V. Smith Berry. He was employed as a teacher for 25 years with Baltimore County Schools and also taught at Harford Community College. He was a dedicated educator and coach. He started and coached the golf team at Harford Community College. Other sports he enjoyed coaching through community programs were baseball, basketball, and swimming. An avid golfer, he won the Harford County Senior Golf Championship on several occasions. He was a proud graduate and supporter of Villanova University, and also served as the Dean of Men at Biscayne College in Florida.

Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Weinbrecht Berry of Bel Air, MD; sons, Joe Berry and wife Lori, of Annapolis, MD and Bill Berry and wife, Lisa, of Ambler, PA; daughter, Christine Kloss and husband, Chris, of Crofton, MD; brother, Robert Berry and wife, Dorothy, of Los Altos Hills, CA; and seven grandchildren, Megan, Hunter, and Emily Berry, Brooke and Elise Berry, and Molly and Emmett Kloss. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Charles and William Berry, and sister, Marguerite Prost.
