Jon Dart, a beloved resident of Aberdeen, Maryland, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024, at the age of 75, surrounded by loved ones at his home. Born in Bangor, Maine, he was the cherished son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Dart and the devoted husband of Laurie Donophan-Dart. Jon served his country honorably as a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a proud member of Mt. Zion Church, where his faith in Christianity guided his life.
Jon's commitment to service extended beyond his military duty. He generously dedicated his time as an Eagle and Boy Scout leader, positively impacting the lives of many young individuals. An avid outdoorsman, Jon found solace in hiking trails and embarked on countless adventures as a long-distance cyclist.
In addition to his wife, Laurie, Jon leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his son, Brian (Kambra) Dart, and daughter, Betsy (Allen Jr.) McElwain, as well as his stepdaughter, Sarah (Timothy) Cassady. Jon will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Thomas, Hannah, Titus, Silas, Naomi Dart, "AJ" Adams, Joshua, and Nathan McElwain. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (Will) Zettler and Jane (Dennis) Cummings.
Jon was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Carrol Dart, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 502 Washington Avenue Suite 300, Towson, MD 21204, in honor of Jon's memory.
May Jon Dart's gentle soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire acts of kindness and service in the lives of those he touched.
