Johnny James Battle Jr.

Johnny James Battle Jr., age 61, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 6, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Bayview in Baltimore, MD. Born in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of Johnny James Battle Sr. and Helen Jones Battle of Odenton, MD. A 22 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a 1972 graduate of Morgan State University and was a lifetime member of Omega Psi Phi in the IOTA NU Chapter. He worked for Bechtel Corporation as a Procurement Manager and was working towards his Masters Degree in Business.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jasmine Brooks Battle of Bel Air, MD; sons, Jonathan Warren and Christopher Cohen, both of Charleston, SC; brothers Craig, Warren, and Todd Battle, all of MD; sister, Yvette "Beryl" Solomon of Oxon Hill, MD; mother-in-law, Georgene V. Brooks of Baltimore, MD; father-in-law, Eugene V. Schwartzberg; and sister-in-law, Donna S. Walker of Oklahoma City, OK. He was predeceased by his sister, Judy Battle.
