John Wilson Stump, Sr., age 90, of Bel Air, MD, passed away on April 1, 2017. Born in Baltimore, MD he was the son of Dr. William Stump and Constance Mary Evelyn (Poor) Stump. He was raised in Emmorton, MD on a farm located near St. Mary's Church. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII in the 824 Tank Destroyer Batallion. He attended McDonough School and was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He was a retired farmer and a breeder of Charolais beef cattle on his farm in Street. He loved entertaining family and friends at his farm. He was a descendant of John Stump of Stafford at Rock Run Mill and loved researching Stump Family genealogy.
Mr. Stump is survived by his wife with whom he raised four children on their farm in Street, Sarah Herman Stump; his children, John W. Stump Jr. and wife, Pamela, of Havre de Grace, and their children, Katie, Margaret and Emma Stump; Andrew H. Stump and wife, Abbie, of West Chester, PA and their children, Drew and Holly Stump; the late Sarah Stump Streett and husband, Paul Streett of Bel Air and their children, Hannah, Emily and Evelyn Streett; and T.B. Coleman Stump of Richmond, VA. In addition to his parents and daughter, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Joyce Stump of Cockeysville.
