JOHN WILLIAM TORNABENE, JR., age 57, of Forest Hill, died in Stella Maris Hospice, Timonium, MD on April 23, 2003. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John William, Sr. and Rose Marie Armiger Tornabene. He was a resident of Harford County off and on since 1972. He was an avid golfer at Ruggle’s Golf Course in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, where he was also a volunteer. He bowled at the Forest Hill and Bel Air Lanes. He collected baseball cards and coins. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans and served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a combat infantryman. He received a Purple Heart for his combat injuries and was placed on the Totally and Permanently Disability Retired List.
Mr. Tornabene is survived by his wife of 33 years, Catherine Ann Kuczynski Tornabene; two sons, Gregory P. Tornabene and his wife, Julie M. Tornabene of Havre de Grace; Christopher J. Tornabene and his wife, Melissa Tornabene of Scottsdale, Arizona; one daughter, Brenda L. Carter and her husband, Scott A. Carter of Medford, New Jersey; two brothers, Charles Tornabene of Perry Hall; Paul A. Tornabene of Bel Air; one sister, Joanne M. Seidle of Bel Air; six grandchildren, John A. Tornabene of Havre de Grace; Samantha K. Tornabene of Havre de Grace; Megan D. Tornabene of Scottsdale, Arizona; Amber E. Tornabene of Scottsdale, Arizona; Anthony G. Carter of Medford, New Jersey; and Shane M. Carter of Medford, New Jersey. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Lauren Tornabene of MD; Jennifer Tornabene of MD; Deanna Ebert of MD; Mark Seidle of CA; and Richard Derka of MD.
