John Wiley Bowling Sr.

John Wiley Bowling Sr., age 83, of Abingdon, MD, passed away on January 21, 2012 at Young At Heart Assisted Living in Joppa, MD. Born in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Owen Anderson and Bertha Imagean Roten Bowling. He had worked as a Steel Cutter for Price Brothers in Perryman and had cut grass for both Cokesbury Cemetery and Creswell Christian Church. He was a member of Abingdon Fire Company for 20 years and Creswell Christian Church.

Mr. Bowling is survived by his wife, Doris Leona Bowling; sons, Ronnie J. Bowling of Greenville, NC, John W. Bowling Jr. of Bel Air, MD, and Charles O. Bowling of San Diego, CA; daughter, Beth A. Higgins of Hollywood, MD; brothers, Leonard I. Bowling of Tazewell, VA and Edward E. Bowling of Port Deposit, MD; sister, Shirley E. Waddell of Edgewood, MD; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Roger C. Bowling.
