John "Uncle Johnny" Murphy

John Lee Murphy, age 77 passed away on July 27, 2019 in Joppa, MD. Born in Harford County, MD, he was the son of the late Chester Murphy and Helen Cerny and the husband of his beloved Linda Gale Murphy. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served our country during the Vietnam War. He worked for Harford County Water Sewage for 22 years. He loved fishing, boating and being out on the water. He enjoyed eating steamed crabs and taking scenic drives with his wife. He was affectionately known as “Uncle Johnny” to many people.

Mr. Murphy is survived by his loving family, brother-in-law Jimmy Shannon and wife Jayne and Gary Moses; sister in laws, Barb Hall and husband Jim and Chris Heisey and husband Cory; nieces, Sandy, Jen, Allison and Rachel and nephews, Bryan, Matthew and Eric.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and stepbrother, Joe Griffin.
