John Tselepis

Havre de Grace

John Tselepis passed away on Aug. 8, 2023 at the age of 70.  Born in Baltimore, MD on Oct. 28, 1952, John was the son of the late James Tselepis and the late Katherine Tselepis, and the loving husband of Sharon Ford Tselepis.  John is survived by two children:  Robin Rakowski and husband Scott of Bel Air, MD; and Christopher Tselepis and wife Jennifer of Nottingham, MD.  Other family members include sister Mary Tselepis and nephew James of Boca Raton, FL; brother-in-law William Ford of Havre de Grace, MD; and brother-in-law Thomas Ford and wife Patricia of Ocean View, DE.  He leaves behind two grandchildren:  Vincent Tselepis and Sophia Tselepis.

A lifelong resident of Maryland, John graduated from Loyola College in Maryland in 1974 with a B.S. degree in Accounting, then continued on to receive his Accounting MBA in 1975.  He joined the ROTC during his college years and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army after graduation.  Upon receiving his CPA license, John began a long, successful career as an accountant.  He started his career at C.W. Amos, one of Baltimore’s oldest and largest accounting firms.  He then developed a specialization in medical finance during long stints at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Harbor Hospital.  In 1995, John followed his dream and partnered with wife Sharon to open his own successful accounting practice, A-1 Accounting, Inc.

John married Sharon, his high school sweetheart, in 1974 and celebrated 49 happy years of marriage with her.  He was a kid at heart and loved his family above all else.  He adored his grandchildren and loved nothing better than cookouts, camping trips, cruises or vacations away with the entire clan.  He was also an active participant in the community.  John and Sharon were an integral part of operating the Broadview French Exchange Program every July which brought French students to the USA as a cultural experience.  He also assisted yearly with the Snow Ball, a very successful charity event that raised proceeds for the Patrick Hart Foundation for Tuberous Sclerosis.
