John Theodore Huss Jr., age 63, of Rising Sun MD passed away on December 31, 2015, peacefully at his home, after battling prostate cancer for several years. Born in Baltimore MD, he was the son of the late John Theodore Huss Sr. and Lula Mae Harmon Huss.
He attended Harford Votech majoring in drafting; was 1st draft pick and enlisted in the Navy in 1970 and was at the top of his class in photo intelligence school; he worked as a surveyor, trim carpenter; worked at Sweetheart Cup as machine designer; Koppers; Residential and commercial building design with Jarrettsville Builders and J.J. Mundth; Harford Systems in Aberdeen as a mechanical engineer.
Mr. Huss is survived by his wife of four years, Pamela Christine (Handy) Huss; son, Jacob D. Huss of Jarretsville, MD; daughter Sarah G. Wenger and husband John, grandchildren Grace, Autumn, and Ethan Bethke and grandson Johnny Wenger, all of Abingdon, MD; Dodi Gregory Huss of Jarretsville, MD, by previous marriage; Daughter in law Rachel Roth and grandsons Nathan Roth, Levi and Simon Huss of Orange, Connecticut. Brothers Doug and wife, Gene of Fort Mill, S.C., Greg and wife Gwen, and Todd and wife Laurie of Shelby, N.C. Predeceased by sons Noah Ryan Huss and Aaron B. Huss.
He loved his family, enjoyed drumming, good music, the arts, good humor, golfing, motorcycles, and mechanical and intellectual challenges. He was an honest and hard worker, as well as a good provider throughout all of his years and worked up to almost the last days of his life. He will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege to know him.
