John T. Smith

John T. Smith, age 84, of Fayetteville, PA, died on May 27, 2009, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, PA. Born in Springville, TN, he was the son of the late Johnie Thomas Smith Sr. and Juliet Elizabeth Doty Smith. After serving as pastor at two churches in Pennsylvania, he served as pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Joppa, MD for 23 years and eleven months. He has been recognized as Pastor Emeritus since 1989.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Anna C. Atwood Smith; sons, David M. Smith and wife, Marie, of Wilmington, DE, Stephen D. Smith and wife, Patty, of Joppa, MD; daughter-in-law, Nancy Smith of Greenville, SC; five siblings; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, John L. Smith and his sister, Jeanette Reese.
