JOHN SOWA, age 94, of Abingdon, died at his residence on August 11, 2004. Born in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Jacob and Kunegunda Dziubacka Sowa, and the husband of the late Virginia B. Hoover Sowa. A resident of Harford County since 1989, he served his country in the U.S. Army for over 20 years during WW II and the Korean Conflict. His tours of duty included service in Panama and Japan. He worked for Pinkerton Security for 15 years and also went to school and learned to be a locksmith. He loved his cars.
Mr. Sowa is survived by one daughter, Helen C. Hollandsworth of Joppa; two brothers, Joseph Sova of Wyoming, Pennsylvania; Frank Sova (SOVA spelled correctly for these two brothers.) of Wyoming, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Dawn McCluskey of Bear, Delaware; William Hollandsworth of Forest Hill; four great-grandchildren, Daniel McCluskey; Hailey McCluskey, both of Bear, Delaware; Bret Hollandsworth; and Blake Hollandsworth, both of Forest Hill, Maryland.
