JOHN PHILIP WALSH, SR., age 70. of Bel Air, died in Lorien Riverside Nursing and Rehabiliation Center on July 30, 2004. Born in Concord, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Robert M., Sr. and Helen E. Quinn Walsh and the husband for 37 years of the late Marian Reeves Walsh.
In 1956, he received a B. S. degree from Boston College. In 1967, he received his law degree from University of Baltimore. He practiced law in Bel Air for 30 years. In 1972, he was elected to the first Harford County Council. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid sports fan. He loved his golden retrievers, many of which he raised himself. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.
Mr. Walsh is survived by his son, John P. Walsh, Jr. of Washington, D.C.; five daughters, Barbara W. Lambrow of Timonium, MD.; Kathy W. Gilday of Kensington, MD; Susan E. Walsh of McLean, Virginia; Jane W. Bradley of Bel Air, MD; Jennifer W. Prestage of Cranston, Rhode Island; three brothers, Robert M. Walsh, Jr. of Manchester, New Hampshire; David Walsh of Chatham, Massachusetts; Mark Walsh of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; one sister, Linda Crisafi of Sudbury, Massachusetts; and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John P. Walsh, Jr., Dennis J. Lambrow, Kevin J. Gilday, Mark R. Prestage, Alexander J. Lambrow, and Andrew T. Bradley.
