John P. Stevens

JOHN P. STEVENS, age 72, of Edgewood, MD, died on July 10, 2007 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation, Forest Hill, MD. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Preston McManus and Minnie Lee Thompson Stevens. He owned and operated John Preston Stevens Inc. where he was an electrical contractor, retiring after 25 years. An avid hunter, fisherman, and trap shooter, he was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed going to flea markets and his Labrador retriever dogs.

Mr. Stevens is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn L. Barnes Stevens of Edgewood, MD; one son, Preston “Pres” K. Stevens of Westminster, MD; one daughter, Jeaneanne Stevens Bock of Glen Arm, MD; three sisters, Mary Jane Egner of Daytona Beach, FL, Aileen Wyckoff of Alpharetta, GA, and Effie Friedel of Apopka, FL; and three grandchildren, Amy L. Stevens, Emily M. Stevens, and Sarah A. Stevens, all of Westminster, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Barry Stevens.
