John T. Lohmeyer Jr., age 88, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed away on March 7, 2024, after a pedestrian traffic accident in Rosedale, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of John Thomas Lohmeyer Sr. and Ethel (Richardson) Lohmeyer.
John was a proud member of Operating Engineers Local 37, the Loud Mouth Club of Rosedale, and the NSSA (North South Skirmish Association). He dedicated his life to his work and as a member of his chosen organizations. He leaves a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A lover of farming and construction equipment and an aficionado of good times, John was often found enjoying a cold beer and sharing stories with friends and family. His vibrant spirit and zest for life will be fondly remembered.
John is survived by his sons, John Thomas Lohmeyer III (Rebecca) and David Lohmeyer (Helen); grandchildren, Kristi Kriss (Mike), Josh Lohmeyer (Jess), Amie Lohmeyer, and Laura Sky Quest; great-grandchildren, Kara Kriss and Ben Kriss; and his longtime girlfriend, Elanor Rose Barber. John was preceded in death by his brother, William "Terry" Lohmeyer.
In addition to his immediate family, John leaves behind a legacy of camaraderie and laughter cherished by friends and fellow club members. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
May he rest in peace, surrounded by the warmth of the memories he created and the love of those who cherished him.
