John Lacy Burns, Sr., age 92, of Bel Air, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, on September 9, 2009. Born in Maxton, NC, he was the son of the late William Penn and Mary Scott Burns. He was owner and operator of the Sinclair Service Station in Fallston. He also had worked for S & E Trucking as a mechanic, was district manager for World Book Encyclopedias and was an electronic salesman for many years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed traveling. He was a member of Bel Air United Methodist Church.
Mr. Burns is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Hopkins Burns; a son, John L. Burns, Jr. and his wife, Gale, of Conowingo; a daughter, Barbara Scott Noble of Bel Air; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
