John K. Fassel, Jr.

John K. Fassel Jr., age 87, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 26, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Kimbell Fassel Sr. and Alice Shue Fassel. A resident of Harford County since 1970, he worked for Anchor Construction Company where he was a Project Manager. He graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School in 1942, and served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, later serving in the Army Reserves for a total of 40 years, earning the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. A member of the Boumi Temple Legion of Honor, he was also a member of Mt. Ararat Lodge #44 in Forest Hill where he was past secretary. As a Mason, his membership also included The Scottish Rite and Tall Cedars.

Mr. Fassel is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gertrude Isabelle Heimiller Fassel of Bel Air, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy.
