John "Jack" R. Kirk, age 82, of Pylesville, MD, died on December 29, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Bel Air, MD, he was the son of the late Frank Theodore and Gladys Irene Frantz Kirk. A veteran of the Merchant Marines from 1942-1944, he served our country during WWII. A past member of the Bel Air Moose Lodge, he was currently a member of the American Legion in Whiteford-Slate Ridge. An avid motorcycle rider, he enjoyed repairing and restoring Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed refinishing antiques, and collecting and repairing old toys. He retired from AFL-CIO Operating Engineers Local 37 as a heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Kirk is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anna Lambert Kirk of Pylesville, MD; sons, John M. Kirk of Port Deposit, MD, Steven R. Kirk of Delta, PA, and Daniel S. Kirk of Bel Air, MD; brother Robert Kirk of Westminster, MD; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Frank Kirk Jr.
