John "Jack" Kelly, age 84, of Bel Air, MD, died on August 14, 2011 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Forest Hill, he was the son of the late a J. Milton Kelly and Marian Kahoe Kelly. A lifelong resident of Harford County, he was born and raised in Forest Hill, and was a lifetime member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church where he was an usher. During his early years, he enjoyed racing cars, motorcycles, and boats. He also used to joust and was known as the Knight of Melrose. He was a dairy farmer for most of his life on the family's farm "Melrose Farm". He also hosted the "Kelly Opra House" in his home for 19 years where musicians gathered to play. He was also involved in excavating and custom mowing, and enjoyed antique tractor pulling.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Ann Kelly of Bel Air, MD; sons, John J. Kelly Jr. and fiancée, Jo Ann Sheehan, Mike Kelly and wife, Joan, David Kelly and wife, Lisa; daughters, Patty Hash and husband, Ken and Marian Blevins and husband, Isaac, all of Bel Air, MD; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Paul Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Hash, Glenn Blevins, Joe Kelly, Jay Gill, Chris Kowalewski, and Kevin Sadera.
