JOHN "JACK" BUCKLEY JR., age 76, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 24, 2008 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Joseph Buckley Sr. and the late Helen Gretchen Sterger Buckley. A resident of Harford County since 1985, he was voted Maryland's Best Trumpet Player and played music in many of the Baltimore night clubs. He was inducted into the Baltimore Musicians Hall of Fame. At the age of 13, he played at the Hippodrome Theater where he met Frank Sinatra. He played on the Jerry Lewis Telethon and arranged music for Zim Zimmeral's.
Mr. Buckley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Margaret DeFelice Buckley of Bel Air, MD; two sons, John J. Buckley III of Baltimore, MD and Timothy Buckley of Bel Air, MD; two daughters, Kathleen Brady of Aberdeen, MD and Rosemarie Miller of Harrisonburg, VA; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tim Buckley Sr., Tim Buckley Jr., Robert Dorsey Jr., Matthew "Smit" Miller, Scott "Smitty" Miller, and Lance Lader.
