John J. Dinger, age 79, of Bel Air Maryland passed away on September 1, 2020 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Dubois, Pennsylvania, he was the son of John F. and Isabelle Beatrice (Berry) Dinger. John graduated from Penn State University as a Business Major in 1964 and was immediately drafted into the U.S. Army, excelled in leadership and was chosen to be an MP, stationed at the Edgewood Arsenal, in Edgewood, Maryland where he was awarded Soldier of the Month in 1965 as PFC John Dinger. After his service to his country was complete, John worked in Sales for the Oil Industry and later the Industrial "nuts & bolts" business, as he called it, retiring at age 62. He was a member of the Bel Air Athletic Club for over 30 years, and enjoyed camping, traveling, any excuse to steal away to a historic Civil War site or grab his son and his family to head to an amusement park to ride the rollercoasters. He loved his gadgets, tinkering with his computer and digital camera.
John is survived by his son, Jeff J. Dinger (wife Bethany), daughter, Heather Nickle (husband Ben); grandchildren Emma Catherine, Avery Grace, and Zoe Faith Dinger, as well as Elaina & Nathanial Nickle; companion Maureen Martin, her three children Brian Martin (wife Amy), Greg Martin and Sue Mendola, and 8 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by father, John F. Dinger, mother, Isabelle Beatrice Dinger (Berry) of DuBious, Pennsylvania.
