John Howard Henschen

February 8, 1938 — May 5, 2020

John Howard Henschen, age 82, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on May 5, 2020 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Howard Henschen and Lydia (Williams) Channey. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired from BG&E as an FCC radio repairman after 38 years of service. He was a master of all trades and even built a camper and a boat from scratch in his youth, as well as model planes. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time camping and boating, which eventually steered him towards moving from a power boat to a sailboat. His love for boats led him to doing side work making boat canopies, rails and ladders at the local marinas. Later in life his passion turned back to radio-controlled airplanes and gliders. He was a member of Sunday Fliers, Essex Park and Parkton RC Airfield flying clubs, flying miniature models all the way up to gas powered planes with a wingspan of up to 22 feet.

John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna (Flaig) Henschen; children, Bobby (Joy) Henschen, Robin (Randy) Rogers, Victor (Laurie) Dennison, David Dennison, Richard (Susan) Dennison Sr., Randy (Gail) Dennison and Scott (Rebecca) Dennison; brother David; grandchildren, Amber, Ryan, Joey, Daniel, Brandon, Jamie, Jeff, Kaley, David Jr., Nicki, Kim, Richard Jr., Jennifer, Dwayne, Darrell, Dana, Jessica, Heather, Cory, Avery, Greg and Stephen; and 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald Henschen and daughter, Janet Dennison.
