John Goedeke Orth, M.D., age 86, of Parkville, MD passed away on December 2, 2018 at Oak Crest Village in Parkville, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Charles and Henrietta (Goedeke) Orth and husband of 64 years to Mary Cole Orth of Parkville. He was a graduate of City College and the University of MD School of Medicine. He worked at the Rosedale Medical Group for 20 years and St. Joseph’s Medical Center for 20 years before retiring. He was actively involved in Mountain Christian Church where he served as an elder. In his spare time, he enjoyed duck carving and traveling with his wife in their RV.
In his later years, after moving to Oak Crest Village, he was very active in many organizations. He was a devoted family man who was most proud to be called "Pop-Pop".
In addition to his wife, Dr. Orth is survived by children, Jack (Rhonda) Orth of Greenwood, IN, Kathy Orth Ostrander of Frankfort, NY, Tom (Chuck Lloyd) Orth of Baltimore and Mary Fran (Wayne) Reiber of Groton, MA; five grandchildren, John Orth, Garrett Orth, Jennifer Abeshouse, Mindy Murdock and Madison Reiber; great grandchildren, Dyllan, Logan, Mark, Keira, Kaia, Corinne, Autumn, Elise, Nathan and Evelyn Orth; and sister, Nancy Venditti of Silver Spring.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Orth and sister, Henrietta Lucht.
