John E. Strawbridge

John E. Strawbridge, age 91, of Bel Air, MD, died on June 16, 2016 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center with his family by his side. Born and raised on a farm in Fallston, MD, he was the son of John B. and Alice Josephine Strawbridge. He attended the Fallston School, Bel Air High School and served in World War II aboard the US Navy Destroyer Escort USS Neunzer. He worked for the US Army Chemical Research and Development Center at the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground retiring in 1983 after 36 years. He had many part time jobs during his life including being a Bel Air Town Police Officer in the early 1960's. He was dedicated to and loved spending time with his family especially his granddaughters Emily and Sarah. He loved keeping his car spotless and taking rides around Harford County.

Mr. Strawbridge was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Betty Strawbridge. He is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Elliott and her husband, Jim, of Havre de Grace, MD; son, John B. Strawbridge and his wife, Debbie, of Forest Hill, MD; and two grandchildren, Emily Strawbridge and Sarah Strawbridge, both of Forest Hill, MD. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister Mary Ellis.
