John "Jack" Grebe Corun, age 96, of Fallston, Maryland, passed away on February 25, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the cherished son of the late Lewis and Frances (Grebe) Corun. John shared 72 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Cleo (Cornwell) Corun.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, John served his country with honor and dedication. Throughout his life, he exemplified qualities of integrity, loyalty, and hard work. He was deeply committed to his faith and was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Additionally, John was a dedicated member of the Fallston Lions Club, where he contributed to his community in meaningful ways.
Professionally, John was known for his leadership and entrepreneurship. He was the former owner and manager of the Corun & Gatch Corporation, a family road construction business. His tireless efforts and vision played a significant role in the success of the company.
Beyond his professional endeavors, John found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for spending time on the Eastern shore and spent some of his favorite moments at his home in Cambridge. John also had a competitive spirit and was an avid bowler and card player, enjoying friendly competition and camaraderie with friends and family. John loved making friends with anyone he came in contact with and was known for his storytelling and meaningful conversations.
John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. In addition to his devoted wife, Cleo, John is survived by his sons, Jerry Corun and Ronald Corun; Daughter-In-Law Mary Ann Corun; grandchildren, Mary Frances Kerns, Ronald Corun, Jr, Jamie Greer, and Kristina Corun; great-grandchildren, Brianna Kerns, Ashley Kerns, Liam Eckley, and Ace Greer.
