John C. Haupt, P.L.S. age 84, of Street, MD passed away on August 6, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Flora K. Kirwan Haupt. A graduate of Polytechnic Institute in 1949, he served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS WASP CV18. He later worked as a professional land surveyor registered in MD, DE, PA, VA, WVA, and NJ. He owned First State Mortgage Surveys, Mann-Talley Engineering and Surveyors and Head Engineering and Surveys and was a corporate officer with Pennoni Associates Inc. He was Past Master of the Mason-Tuscan Lodge in Towson, and a big supporter of the St. Joseph Indian School in South Dakota and the Wounded Warriors and VA Christian Children's Fund. An avid coin collector, he was also the World's Greatest Oriole Fan.
Mr. Haupt is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dolores "Boots" L. (Polumbo) Haupt of Street; son, John W. Haupt and wife, Doreen, of Bear, DE; daughter, Tracey M. Geisel and husband, Ralph, of Street; sister, Virginia Gounaris of Fallston; grandchildren, Holli Collins, Christina and John Tyler Haupt; and great grandchildren, Rylee and Jillian Collins.
