John C. Burns

John C. Burns, age 84, of Aberdeen, MD, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2010 at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Putney, WV, he was the son of the late John Willie and Ethel Harrison Brown Burns. A member of Carsins Run Baptist Church, he worked 23 years for the Board of Education where he was Head Custodian at Old Post Road/William Paca Elementary School. He used to bowl and loved gardening, flowers, traveling, and bus trips.

Mr. Burns is survived by his wife, Catherine Burke Burns of Aberdeen, MD; son, Howard Douglas Burns of Aberdeen, MD; daughter, Jackie Faye Shupe of Aberdeen, MD and Susan Lynn Sharber and husband, Rex Alyn Sharber, of Fritch, TX; sister, Eva Mae Bryant; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Roy Lee Burns, seven sisters, and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Jack Shupe, Anthony Lear, Charles Ayers, Dennis Price, Bob Evans, and Rick Maines.
