JOHN BERNARD ROGALSKI, SR., age 84, of Bel Air, died in Orlando Regional Hospital-Sandlake in Orlando, Florida on September 18, 2004. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of Joseph Matthew Rogalski and Marie Sobczak Walter. He was educated at Johns Hopkins University earning degrees in math and physics, University of Maryland earning a degree in engineering, and Clarkson Institute of Technology in Potsdam, New York earning a masters degree in engineering science. He was as a mechanical engineer and worked in the communications field. In 1984 he retired from Western Electric Company with 30 years of service. After his retirement he continued his education earning a degree in accounting from Harford Community College. He also taught at Morgan State College and Catonsville Community College. He was a resident of Harford County for 41 years, a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, and past president of his family business. For several years, he volunteered at the John Archer School, working in the swim program for the children. He served his country in the navy during WWII on the aircraft carriers, Franklin and Bonhomme Richard. He attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a member and Past Master of Mt. Arrarat Masonic Lodge #44, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and past Trustee of the Grand Lodge of Maryland.
Mr. Rogalski is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Olive Casey Rogalski; two sons, John B. Rogalski, Jr. and his wife Georgia L. of Bel Air; Gregory R. Rogalski and his wife Lisa M. of Bel Air; daughter, Denise R. Rogalski of Ocoee, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Kathleen D. Law, Patricia A. Giles, Rachael E. Rogalski, all of Bel Air, and one great-grandchild, Sommer R. Law of Bel Air.
