John Bernard Cassant, Sr., age 80, of Baltimore, Maryland passed away on November 6, 2021 at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Queensbury, New York, he was the son of the late Bernard and Josephine (White) Cassant. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the Steel Workers Association of Local #2477. John retired from Bethlehem Steel in 2001 after 35 years of service. He also sold real estate for a period of time, working with Long and Foster Realtors. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything! He ranged in different jobs and hobbies throughout his life including Locksmithing, Auto Mechanic, Electrical and Iron worker as well as gardening. He had a big heart and was always helping others which included being a caregiver to his beloved Faith Bennett and family friend, Gladys Milonovich for many years. He was big into politics and stocks but most of all, loved spending time with his grandchildren and two dogs. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family.
John is survived by his son, John B. Cassant II and his daughters, Michelle J. Amos, Stephanie L. Cassant and Kristen M. Rossi; grandchildren, Charlene, Timothy, Hannah Cassant, Savannah Schmelz and Bryson Rossi; great-grandchild, Kaysen Cassant; sister, Carol Daly; brother, Ken Cassant.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by sister, Shirley Younes.
