John B. Larosa, Sr.

JOHN B. LaROSA, SR., age 64, of Edgewood, MD, died on March 13, 2006 at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Ernest Bernard Sr. and Sallie Elizabeth McVicker LaRosa. He was a construction inspector for the Harford County Department of Water and Sewer. He was a life-long resident of Harford County who grew up on Willoughby Beach Road in Edgewood. A 1960 graduate of Edgewood High School, he earned a football scholarship to the University of Maryland in College Park. He helped many boys excel in football over the years through his over 25-year involvement with the football programs at both Edgewood High School and the Edgewood Rec. program. Last year, he coached the Edgewood-Joppatowne Steelers in the Rec. program. He loved the Baltimore Colts, and especially Johnny Unitas.

Mr. LaRosa is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kennedy-LaRosa of Edgewood, MD; one son, John B. LaRosa, Jr. of St. Augustine, FL; three daughters, Angela A. LaRosa Thomas of Jarrettsville, MD, Stephanie K. Kennedy-LaRosa and Taylor K. Kennedy-LaRosa, both of Edgewood, MD; one brother, Michael D. LaRosa of Edgewood, MD; two sisters, Nealie M. LaRosa of Essex, MD and Theresa E. LaRosa-Haladej of Hanover, PA; and four grandchildren, Keith W. Thomas and Kevin A. Thomas, both of Jarrettsville, MD and Mallory A. LaRosa and Madalyn E. LaRosa, both of St. Augustine, FL.
