John "Rooster" Lester Adams

John "Rooster" Lester Adams, age 73, of Bel Air, Maryland passed away on August 19, 2023. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth “Betty” (Smith) Adams and husband of Mooi Adams. 

John was a self-employed mason contractor from 1977-2002 (25 years). His masonry skills can be found in many Harford & Baltimore County homes. He was well respected in his trade; written about in magazines and included in a documentary on older homes and mansions. John later specialized in restoring hundreds of historic chimneys throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. 

He attended Salisbury State College and was the senior class president of Bel Air High School in 1968. He was a dog lover, passionate about traveling and loved by all.  John was perhaps best known for his creative wit, warmth and humor.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his three boys, Eli Adams, Ben Adams, and Marshall Adams; two brothers, Tom (Geraldine) Adams, Jr., and Mike (Deb) Adams; sister, Beth Adams; granddaughter, Lindsay Adams; and grandson, Blake Adams.
