John Adam Gable, age 80, formerly of Harford County, passed away at his home in South Carolina on August 31, 2022. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Edward and Dorothy Gable.
John leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Carol and 3 wonderful children, John II, Phillip (Tina) and Theresa Raymond (Dan). John was a loving grandfather to Joseph, Brooke, Kyle, Lee, and Jason. He also leaves behind his sisters Donna Ruff and Lois Bucher (Patrick) and brothers Larry (Barbara), Steve (Karen) and Lou; brother and sister-in-law Jim and Debi Vaughn and sister-in-law Joan Vaughn as well as many nephews and nieces and tons of good friends. John was predeceased by his parents, brothers David and Mike, brothers-in-law Bill Ruff and Dick Vaughn and granddaughter Janette Gable.
John loved golf, bowling, car shows, and time spent with family and friends. He worked for Harford County Government in Highways for many years. He was a tough boss but always fair and is remembered for his kindness to others. After his retirement from Harford County, he moved to South Carolina where he volunteered in his community through the 12th Circuit Solicitor's Juvenile Arbitration Program.
John loved his family with all of his heart. He was a husband, a father, a grandfather and always a big brother, protector, leader and advisor who knew the importance of finding a small amount of joy in each day.
