John A. Kelly

March 2, 1928 — October 8, 2016

John A. Kelly (age 88), a "true gentleman and scholar", of Bel Air, MD died on October 8, 2016 with his beloved wife, Kathleen, by his side.

John was born and raised in Union City, NJ. He served in the US Army at the end of World War II. Afterward, he worked his way through night school, eventually earning his Accounting Degree from Seton Hall University.

After marrying his bride Kathleen, they settled in Toms River, NJ, where they lived for over 50 years. He served as comptroller for Community Medical Center for many years before retiring. They were parishioners of St. Joseph's Parish.

John was a quiet man of great strength. He always held the door for the ladies and had a handshake for the men folk. He felt blessed to be surrounded by his family, wonderful neighbors and friends. He was a great dancer and enjoyed listening to the old classics. He enjoyed golf and was an avid Yankees and Notre Dame Fan.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen; Brothers Tommy and Gerry, daughter and son in law, Tara and Mike Amabile, sons John and Stephen Kelly, daughter Mary Kelly, grandchildren Michael, Kieran and Gracie and over fifty nieces and nephews.
