John A. Brown

August 27, 1951 — December 9, 2011

John A. Brown, beloved son of the late Harvey L. and Mabel M. (Britton) Brown, was born August 27, 1951 in Benson, MD. He slipped away to glory on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Stella Maris Hospice Center in Timonium, MD.

Johnny, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Harford County public school system. After graduating, Johnny relocated to Newark, NJ, where he worked as a Cook and Dietician at various medical facilities. Johnny returned to Maryland in 1983 where he remained until his passing.

Johnny continued to pursue his passion for the culinary arts by creating various specialty dishes as a chef in numerous restaurants and banquet halls in the Harford County area. Johnny's expert skills as a chef were often requested for many weddings, parties, barbeques, and especially family gatherings (his barbequed ribs could not be beat!).

Johnny was a selfless and caring man who always put others before himself. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved each of them unconditionally and made each one feel special. Johnny enjoyed the time he spent with his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He looked forward to their visits and the good times they spent together. Johnny was known for his great sense of humor and could always lift anyone's spirits no matter how they were feeling. He inspired others, never complaining and always had a positive attitude.

Johnny leaves to cherish his memory wife Rosalind B. Brown, Joppa, MD; three sons: Johnny C. Brown, Newark, NJ, Aaron W. Brown and Jamar A. Brown, Joppa, MD; three daughters: Tosha M. Brown, Baltimore, MD, Timika M.
