JOE VANGRIN, age 65, of Bel Air, died at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on March 17, 2003. Born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Bernard Francis Vangrin of Slickville, Pennsylvania and the late Anna Kuzman Vangrin. He had retired after 33 years of service as a teacher with the Harford County Public Schools. He was an adjunct faculty member at Essex and Harford Community Colleges. He coached varsity football at Edgewood and C. Milton Wright High Schools and at Apollo High School in Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Harford County Ornithological Society. He represented Harford County on the State MOS Board and was the treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 999, Forest Hill, Maryland. He was an avid sports fan of high school, college, and pro sports of the western Pennsylvania teams. He was also a member of the Bel Air Athletic Club.
In addition to his father, Mr. Vangrin is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carole L. Vasbinder Vangrin; one son, Eric Edward Vangrin of Bel Air; two daughters, Dawn L. Vangrin of Chestertown, Maryland; Bethany A. Vangrin of Bel Air; two brothers, Bernard Vangrin of Napa Valley, California; Robert Vangrin of Queensland, Australia; and one sister, Anna Quinn of Export, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; aunts; uncles; nieces; and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Larry Fry, Chuck Hanssen, Phil Hitchingham, Jim Murdza, Tom Congersky, Chuck Marzen, Robert Myers, and John Low.
