Joanne Taylor Fleming, 71, of Bel Air, MD passed away on November 18, 2015 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Henry Ashford Taylor and Helen Elizabeth (Dorsey) Kuhns and wife of the late James Bernard Dayhoof Jr. She was employed with the Harford County Public Schools where she taught, for over 30 years, at Edgewood Elementary School. She attended Fallston Presbyterian Church for 55 years. Her faith and her church were very important to her. She was known for being an amazingly positive and faithful person. Everyone who knew Joanne was better for having known her. She appreciated the little things in life, always saying that it wasn't the major events but the little things in life that were so important. Even through the months of her illness, people visited her thinking they could help her, only to leave realizing that she helped them much more than they helped her.
Mrs. Fleming is survived by her son, Russell A. Fleming and wife, Lisa, of Bel Air; daughters, Kimberly B. Fleming and Niki Burger and husband, Jeffrey, all of Bel Air; sister, Jean Wilcox of Bel Air; grandchildren, Daniel A., Abigail M. and Sean T. Fleming. Her marriage to Beryl H. Fleming ended in divorce but they remained lifelong friends. She is also survived by her aunt and close friend, Yates Mormann; and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Benny.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church she attended, Fallston Presbyterian Church, PO Box 54, Fallston, MD 21047. The family would like to extend a thank you to Fallston United Methodist Church for the use of their facility for the service.
