Joan O. Pohlman

Joan O. Pohlman, age 78, of Bel Air, MD passed away on July 14, 2013 at Stella Maris in Timonium, MD. Born in Baltimore, she is the daughter of the late Walter Dewey and Florence Albertine East Gordon and wife of 62 years to the late Herbert Eugene Pohlman. An office manager, she worked 25 years for Sears at North Avenue and White Marsh. She enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center in Jacksonville, knitting prayer shawls for St. Margaret's in Bel Air, duckpin bowling, ceramics and traveling with her husband. She was an avid reader, played scrabble online and loved steamed crabs.

Mrs. Pohlman is survived by her sons, Wayne W. Pohlman Sr. and wife, Kathie of Mehoopany, PA and Gordon S. Pohlman and wife, Jeane of Burgaw, NC; grandchildren, Wayne Pohlman Jr. and wife, Angela, Nathan Pohlman, Julie Iddings and husband, Matthew, Melissa vandenBerg and husband, Matthew and Charlie Pohlman; great grandchildren, Kelsey Iddings, Jackson vandenBerg and Elaina Pohlman; neighbor and best friends, Betty O'Leary, Jim and Shirley Bohdel, Pat and Carol Barns as well as, Jay and Barb Rupp. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Bonnie L. Pohlman and brother, Roy W. Gordon.
