Joan Loura Durham

Joan Loura Durham, age 72, of Edgewood, MD, died on December 25, 2008 at her home. Born in Conowingo, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Jackson and Molly Delia Jones Taylor. A resident of Edgewood for 42 years, she enjoyed being a grandmother, as well as, playing cards, the slots, and baking.

Mrs. Durham is survived by her husband, Francis Leo Durham of Edgewood, MD; daughters, Shirley Ann Lester, Barbara Jean Shipley and husband James Shipley III, and Jo Ann Smith and husband, Gregory Smith; sisters, Dorothy Eikner, Ruby Leighy, Irene Mellinger, and Dolly Jackson; grandchildren, Brittany L. Lester, Jeremy A. Shipley, Michael T. Smith, James H. Shipley IV, and Gregory W. Smith; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Jack, Willard, and June Taylor, and granddaughter, Kimberly A. Lester.

Pallbearers will be James H. Shipley IV, Gregory W. Smith, Scott Sigai, Jeremy A. Shipley, Michael T. Smith, Jimmy Nakayama, and Robert Husler.
