Joan Ann Lauzau

Joan Ann Lauzau, age 85, of Edgewood, Maryland, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024, at Forest Hill Heights in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in Connecticut, she was the beloved daughter of Ubald and Elsie Desaulniers and the devoted wife of John Charles Lauzau, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.

Joan worked as a library assistant at the Edgewood Public Library, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and dedication. A talented crafter, she delighted in creating handmade clothing, jewelry, afghans, needlecrafts, greeting cards, and personalized Christmas stockings for friends and family. Joan’s generosity, sense of humor, and thoughtfulness made her home a welcoming place for all who knew her. She was a loving mother who passed on many life lessons to her children, and an excellent cook who made sure her family and friends were always well fed and cared for.

She is survived by her daughters, Therese Ann Murdza and Christine Ann-Murdza Zier; stepdaughters, Susan Mary Lauzau, Linda Marie (James Fred) Henry, and Amanda Kay Lauzau; stepson, Christopher John Lauzau; grandchildren, Kelsi Galbraith, Jordan Carr, Austin Reeves, and Sawyer Harris; and great-grandchildren, Cayden, Christian, Cooper, Dawson, Kylin, Chance, Weston, and Ruby. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Joshua Carr.
